These were “just because” photos. As someone who has always adored having tangible memories, I’m an advocate of “just because” photos. There doesn’t always need to be a special occasion or milestone to warrant having pictures taken. Most of my favorite moments in life are the in-between ones. The ones that make you feel good and at home when you look back on them later because they were perfectly imperfect. No one planned them for months and no one had any huge expectations. You were just living life. That’s what these photos were.
Braydon and Sydney both love being outside. I think that if they could live in hammocks in the woods they would be perfectly content. It would be even better if those hammocks were in Colorado… This is where they honeymooned and have vacationed multiple times since then. This is where they spend time with family and doing the things they love.
This time they visited Estes Park, CO and together we ventured into the Rocky Mountain National Park. As we drove along the scenic highway, Trail Ridge Road, we would stop the car and hop out at every beautiful spot we saw… in other words, we got a serious work out that day because every spot is beautiful. They waded through impossibly tall grass and trudged through thick mud. They ran and climbed and took it all in. Meanwhile, I did my best to keep up, gasping for air all the while because as a Floridian there just wasn’t enough oxygen for me that high up. Braydon and Sydney were so patient and laughed with me all along the way.
The sun was high above us because it was hours before sunset. I don’t like to limit my clients to a certain time of day for their pictures. Every time of day has different light that is magnificent in it’s own way. Braydon and Sydney wanted to adventure through the national park for the day and so that’s what we did, from morning until early evening. Braydon is the real MVP for putting up with Sydney and I for so long because we wanted pictures everywhere. I’d adventure with these two any day.
